A desire to honor the military service of his father and other soldiers led Greg Schlecht, owner of Greg’s True Value in St. Francis, to fill the city with American flags for the Fourth of July twenty years ago.  In October of 2022, Greg retired from the hardware industry and sold True Value, and St. Francis Ace Hardware is excited to, once again carry on the tradition of flagging St. Francis!  With the help of community members, St. Francis Ace and the St. Francis community will plant over 3,000 flags around the city of St. Francis!
