No Longer Teaching at Franklin High School
Happy Retirement, Jeff! We love you! Well I’m off to Rawson Pub, yeah, that’s right! I’ll probably call an Uber tonight. I'm so scared that I might fall off my chair, And I'm wondering if my crew will be there, Tesh to the left of me, Huber to the right, the last time At Rawson Pub after school. No longer teaching at Franklin High School Well I started out in Franklin, 30 years, now I’m a retired man, And my friends say they will miss me Buy me Miller Lite and say Please, don’t leaveeee Trying to make some sense of it all, Took my team to state while coaching football It’s the sport used as a math metaphor For AP calc, IM 9 and much more Students to the left of me, colleagues to my right No longer teaching at Franklin High School Well I’m up north in Spread Eagle, And now I’m a pontoon-driving man, And my friends, they all start texting, Asking, begging, pleading sayin’ Please, invite meeeee Well I’m missing Rawson Pub, yeah, that’s right! Though I’m enjoying time up here with my wife I'm so scared that she might fall off her chair And I'm wondering how the hell we got here Amy to the left of me, Junior to the right, here I am Stuck in Spread Eagle with Stu No longer, teaching at Franklin High School Stuck in Spread Eagle with Stu No longer, teaching at Franklin High School

7/20/19: Heijnen Wedding Bridesmaid Speech
I was completely surprised by the best bridesmaid speech I've ever heard. I've played many wedding gigs and attended many weddings in my life and this right here made me cry. Love you Erin, Kaitlin and Megan (and Michael, your cameo was the best.) Also super thankful to my Doghouse fam for keeping this a surprise. Kris and I are so grateful! #Happilyeverheijnen ----------------------------------------- THE HEIJNENS On a warm day in May, On a dating app called tinder Jamie saw a Dutchman, Decided to swipe right Despite Em’s gut reaction, To a bearded suitor’s picture Jamie made the first move Much to his delight. He said “I don’t like Harry Potter, Or musicals – don’t bother Jamie changed his mind As they started to go out Their relationship did blossom And selfless love abounded A perfect match that all could see That would last without a doubt We couldn’t be more happy To gain another brother who gives Jamie so much happiness as evident here tonight And now you start your journey Of this adventure we call marriage Let us give the newlyweds Some sisterly advice…. CHORUS: You’ve got to know when to hold him But know when to scold him Know when to press your luck Or when to compromise Cherish all the moments Every day, together And don’t forget the vows you made to each other here tonight. And now that you are married You can finally live together Decide who folds the laundry And split up all the chores Watch all her Harry Potter And listen to Dave Matthews Be Khal to her Khaleesi Because now what’s his is yours And everybody knows The secret to surviving Is to put in hard work daily It takes more than love sometimes Make time for self-indulgence Have healthy conversations Hold each other closely Especially in hard times CHORUS: You’ve got to know when to hold him But know when to scold him Know when to press your luck Or when to compromise Cherish all the moments Every day, together And don’t forget the vows you made to each other here tonight. We can not wait to see Your lives unfold before you Going on adventures As husband and as wife So let’s cheer to the Heijnens Toast to the happy couple While we wait for baby Dutchmen To enter in their life CHORUS: You’ve got to know when to hold him (When to hold him) But know when to scold him (When to scold him) Know when to press your luck Or when to compromise Cherish all the moments Every day, together And don’t forget the vows you made to each other here tonight.
